Despite the adage “innocent until proven guilty,” even being accused of a crime often has serious repercussions on a person’s life. For this reason, individuals who find themselves facing felony charges often choose to secure the services of an experienced criminal defense attorney. Taking immediate action to seek the support of a criminal defense professional often proves key to securing the most favorable outcome under any given set of circumstances.

An Iowa man was recently arrested on theft charges. The 32-year-old was accused of taking money from the casino where he was employed. Court records allege that he removed cash from the main bank area when he was working alone at approximately 4:45 one Saturday morning.

Casino surveillance cameras allegedly recorded the man taking the money out to the parking lot, where he placed it in his car and returned to work. The cash the man is accused of taking money that totals at over $10,000. Later that morning, police arrested the individual. The accused was taken to an Iowa jail, where bond was set at $10,000. He is facing one count of felony first-degree theft.

While there are a variety of strategies a criminal defense attorney could pursue, it is impossible to speculate what route the defendant will choose to take. For other Iowa residents who find themselves in similar situations facing felony charges or other criminal charges, a seasoned lawyer can offer guidance and advice on options for defense strategies, and an attorney will fight for the accused while ensuring his or her legal rights are protected throughout the process. However a defendant chooses to plead, the counsel of a criminal defense attorney often proves invaluable.
