Iowa men face charges of drug possession or trafficking, more

Criminal charges of any sort are never a trivial matter, but federal charges are especially serious. In Iowa, five men were arrested over the fall and were recently charged in federal court. The individuals now find themselves facing a number of criminal charges, among them drug possession or trafficking.

A federal grand jury indicted two of the individuals on possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. The two men stand accused by police of having conspired to distribute meth. One of the men is additionally facing charges for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, per court documents.

Additionally, a third individual was indicted on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, allegedly more than 5 grams of pure methamphetamine. He and the other men were arrested in Iowa a few months ago after a narcotics investigation allegedly turned up 3 pounds of marijuana and meth, according to police. Official reports claim the drugs' estimated street value to be approximately $65,000.

In a separate but similar federal case, two more men were recently indicted on charges of possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. One of these men was also charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; in his case, for his alleged possession of a handgun. These individuals are facing accusations of distributing at least 50 grams of meth in North Iowa. Anyone who is facing such serious federal charges would do well to consider securing the representation of an experienced criminal defense attorney. Indeed, for any Iowa residents who find themselves accused of drug possession or trafficking or any other weighty criminal charges, the counsel of a seasoned lawyer is likely the best -- if not only -- chance of securing a favorable legal outcome.
